Have you ever dreamt of being a part of “the family”? You know, a “family” that holds “functions” to “raise money” for certain, deserving “causes.” OK, that’s actually quite noble and maybe all the quotation marks weren’t necessary — the mob mystique definitely sets the mood for the 216 Foundation’s Sixth Annual Gangster Gala. The “event” will feature Blackjack tables, Roulette (probably not of the Russian variety), craps and Texas Hold ’em, all run by professional dealers. Winnings can be redeemed for prizes. No confirmation on whether or not a prize will include favor from the Don, however. In addition, local singer Don Fangman will provide some Rat Pack-style music.
The “family” will be meeting at 7 p.m. Saturday at The Madison (740 Madison Ave., Covington). Admission includes dinner, dessert and an open bar. The $75 ticket charge goes towards the 216 Foundation’s goal of curing diabetes. Just be sure you leave your “pieces” at home — we don’t want any accidents, now do we?
