It’s a bird. It’s a plane. It’s Kite Fest! Soaring through 330 acres of open air is one of kids' favorite pastimes. Shapes of dogs, cats, penguins, ducks and many other animals will float through the air in the celebration of kites. The warm April sky will be filled with bold colors, graceful figures and great music. There will be a parachute run, a kite-building workshop, Cincinnati Zoo Animals and other kids events. A fundraising booth for Japan relief will also be on site. In order to gain donations to help Japan recover from one of the five most powerful earthquakes in the world, a group of women will be having an origami sale. The origami products will be sold for any amount of a donation to help the crisis. All funds raised will go directly to the Japanese Red Cross Society.
The festival will be held from noon-5 p.m. at Voice of America Park (8070 Tylersville Road, West Chester). Go here for event details.
