Lets face it: Americans love their guns. America’s second amendment gives citizens the right to bear arms. It precedes voting, trial laws, slavery and (naturally) cruel and unusual punishment. Success or failure in the political world sometimes hinges on gun rights legislation — just ask John Kerry. And what’s not to like about guns? They’re loud, they make holes in stuff and some even blow things up. Enticing, right? The question is how can a Cincinnatian lay his or her hands on one of these fabulous devices? Well, Bill Goodman, gun dealers and private citizens will happily arm local enthusiasts and anyone else at this weekend's gun and knife show. There are few regulations to remember, though. One must be 18 to buy a long gun and 21 to buy a handgun. Also, visitors can purchase guns from other local private citizens without background checks (hence the "anyone else"). The fact of the matter is that December of 2012 is getting closer and closer. Nothing says, “I’m ready for a socialist governmental takeover and/or a zombie apocalypse” better than an AR-15 and a few Bowie Knives hanging on the bunker wall. The show runs from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday at Sharonville Convention Center, 11355 Chester Road. Admission is $8 and kids under 12 years old are $1.
