Aristophanes wrote about it in Ancient Greece. The Moulin Rouge perfected it in Paris. Dita von Teese is still keeping it alive. Enticed yet? It's burlesque, the cheeky, theatrical spectacle that mixes parody with sex. That's right, you might see a ta-ta or two, but unlike the pole kittens at Club Venus (no judgment), burlesque dancers are all about the tease. Prepare to be tempted as the ladies of Cin City Burlesque shimmy their way through the deadly vices. From greed to gluttony and, of course, lust, you'll get schooled on the seven infamous no-no's in the funky setting of the Leapin' Lizard Gallery. Ladies, if you're looking to get some hands-on experience (don't get the wrong idea, fellas), Cin City is offering a workshop from 3:30-5:30 p.m. in the gallery before the show. Learn how to titillate an audience and show just enough skin in a fully choreographed dance routine. Those with a hunger for the spotlight — and enough cojones — will be able to perform the routine that night at the show! Registration for the workshop is required; it costs $40 and includes admission to the show. Tickets for the workshop and burlesque show are both expected to sell out faster than you can say “sequined pasties,” so call 513-479-2797 or e-mail [email protected] right away. The show begins at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Leapin' Lizard Gallery (726 Main St., Covington).
