It just makes sense to surrender control of drinking festivities to journalists. Why else would Mark Twain have a brand of bourbon named after him? So don’t fret when planning how to spend your Cinco de Mayo 2011 — we at CityBeat have you covered with our second annual Cantina Crawl. Kick off the celebration of Mexican culture at Fountain Square with live Latin tunes from Zumba before hitting up (some of!) the 80 participating bars mapped out for your convenience. We’ll also be giving out more movie passes, concert tickets, DVDs and gift certificates than you can shake a piñata stick at. Naturally, our Seen on the Scene photographers will be there, as always, to snap a shot of you in your spirit-slamming splendor so you can check out what a glamorous time you had after your Friday-morning recovery. And, for some reason, we’ve also decided to release a roving squad of senoritas to mingle at select locations. Facebook photo op? Hell yes.

CityBeat reps will be getting their fiesta on at El Coyote, Tostado’s, Allyn’s, Cactus Pear, Cadillac Ranch, Nada, Righteous Room, Scene, Bartini’s and Mynt Martini throughout the night. Go here for a full guide and map for our cantina crawl.
