This ain't your granny's craft show. If you're interested in decking yourself out with only the finest of handmade jewelry, accessories and random hipster decorum, make it a point to check out the Crafty Supermarket. Expect droves of local and visiting vendors peddling their impeccably fashionable indie crafts. “But wait,” you ask. “What on earth are indie crafts?” According to Crafty Supermarket co-founder Grace Dobush's book, Crafty Superstar, indie crafts generally require “the visual contradiction of combining granny craft techniques with punk sensibilities.” So maybe it is your granny's craft show — but only if she's got mad indie cred.
The magic is happening 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday at the Clifton Cultural Arts Center (3711 Clifton Ave., Clifton), where the first 100 shoppers will receive swag bags full of handmade goodness. Find a last-minute Mother's Day gift, enjoy music by PROJECTMILL DJs and grub on Dojo Gelato, Picnic & Pantry, La Terza Coffee and more. Go here for details and directions.
