Talk about “friends” with benefits. The Friends of the Public Library, a nonprofit organization that sponsors numerous reading initiatives for children and adults and helps to purchase new reading material for Cincinnati’s public libraries, is hosting its 37th Annual Book Sale. The sale will showcase more than 80,000 used books, CDs, DVDs and more, and the majority of the items are donations from readers throughout the Cincinnati area. Paperbacks start at 50 cents while many of the CDs and DVDs are priced at around $3. And because their former owners are recycling all of these products, you can literally go green while saving a ton of your own green.

Every bookworm can leave happy — the sale will feature hardbacks and paperbacks from a vast array of genres, including an extensive selection of children’s books. Proceeds will support the Main Library and branches of the Public Library of Cincinnati & Hamilton County. Be there on June 5 for “Bag Day,” and you’ll score even more bargains. On Bag Day, you can purchase a Friends of the Public Library shopping bag for $10 and hoard all the books you can squeeze inside of it at no extra cost! 1-5 p.m. Sunday; 9 a.m.-9 p.m. June 1-3; 9 a.m.-6 p.m. June 4 and 9 a.m.-5 p.m. June 5.
