Thanks to DAAP and CCM, Cincinnati has a young, thriving arts community, but the city’s artistic endeavors are not just limited to the university. On Saturday, Grass, a “cross-genre community collective event,” is taking over the Niehoff Urban Studio as a DIY attempt to show and sell the goods of some of Cincinnati’s most creative crafters, designers and artists. Inspired by design students who felt that Cincinnati talent was going unrecognized, the event will feature different booths with vendors like Poncho Rose’s authentic handmade clothing, Vein’s vintage and handmade unisex jewelry, Maggie Paxton’s street-style accessories, Floyd “Freshdaily” Johnson’s photography and screen-printing and Milk Money, the literary magazine. There’s even going to be some alcohol and pizza while it lasts. Come out and support those dedicated to “making cool shit happen” in our lovely city and walk away with some lovingly handmade goods. 3-8 p.m. Get event and venue details here.
