If you aren't a fan of exercising along the Purple People Bridge, you're in luck. It's finally being put to a more fun, alternative use than just an interesting way to get that morning run in.

Hops on the Ohio is the nation's first state-to-state beer festival. Cross the river by way of the Purple People Bridge and go from Ohio to Kentucky (and back again) while checking out breweries and over 200 different craft beers. Be careful, though — if you wish to cross the bridge, your cup must be empty.

So throw it back and fear not: Each riverbank will have plenty of brewers to immediately fill it back up upon reaching the other side.

$35 will get you a ticket to the event, 25 beer sample tickets and a cup. Each sample ticket is good for a 5-ouncer of the beer of your choosing. $10 designated driver tickets are also available. The event runs noon to 10 p.m. Saturday.
