Spend your Friday night being merry and bright at The Famous Neon’s Unplugged for its second annual Light Up OTR celebration presented by Ionic Collective and PB&J Co. After the success of last year’s event, it is clear this neighborhood tradition is here to stay. Volunteers will meet up at Neon’s (208 E. 12th St.) at 7 p.m. to assemble more than 1,000 luminaries. By 8 p.m. teams will be decking the neighborhood with their luminary wonders. At 10 p.m. teams and guests will meet back at Neon’s for Christmas spirits by mixologist Molly Wellmann, the lighting of the 25-foot OTR Christmas tree and other wild holiday surprises. If you are a bicycle rider, consider joining the Bright Ride team, an additional partnership with Light Up OTR. Use any kind of lights or reflective elements to brighten yourself and your bike as you travel from Northside to Downtown/OTR and back. Meet at Hoffner Park at 7 p.m. Look up The Bright Ride on Facebook for more information on starting point times. Regardless of how you get there, you will be a part of a growing city-wide tradition helping spread Christmas cheer all Over-the-Rhine. Event benefits the Freestore Foodbank.
