The annual Macy’s Light Up The Square is a tradition that no Cincinnatian should miss. Porkopolis will usher in the holiday season Friday at 7 p.m. on Fountain Square (at Fifth and Vine streets, Downtown) with a 60-foot sparkling spruce. Mayor Mark Mallory will do the honors of the lighting the tree. Jeff Thomas from Q102’s Jeff and Jenn in the Morning and News 5’s Sheree Paolello are the hosts for the evening and the pair will be accompanied by Santa, so bring your wish lists.

The tree will glow with 20,000 white lights and an illuminated five-foot-tall red star (thanks, Macy’s). Enjoy live music by Zumba and food from Tom and Chee, Senor Roy’s and Mama Made It (kettle corn and apple cider). The Square’s U.S Bank Ice Rink will be open 10 a.m.-9 p.m. It's $3 to enter the rink and $3 to rent skates.

Fireworks will end the event with a bang.
