It looks like the thoroughfares of Covington will continue their rich tradition as the closest thing Cincinnati has to Bourbon Street this year. Yes, the debauchery shall proudly and loudly ensue as MainStrasse Village gets Big and Easy and once again hosts the 13th Annual Mardi Gras celebration Friday and Saturday.

The fun begins at 8 p.m. both nights with the Big Head Parade and the Grande Parade, whose routes are slated to begin on Ninth and Willow Run and roll down Main Street. The post-parade festivities continue in the Entertainment Tent (located in the Fifth St. parking lot), which will feature Cajun food and live music from local singer/songwriter Kristen Key on Friday and rockers Forehead on Saturday.

Tickets range from $8-$20 depending on when you get them (it’s in your best interest to reserve them ahead of time on mainstrasse.org). And do come prepared to party—you can pick up your bangles, baubles and beads at any of the participating MainStrasse Village businesses.
