Dog = man’s best friend. Reindeer = Santa’s transportation. Dogs dressed up as reindeer = freakishly adorable. Parading your dressed-up best friend for all to see? Now that’s what the Christmas season is all about. The Mount Adams Reindog Parade has given pooch owners a chance to do just that for 20 years. This year’s parade, sponsored by the Cincinnati SPCA, will begin in the Monastery parking lot (1055 St. Paul Place) with this year’s grand marshal, Marty Brennaman, overseeing the event.
Registration is from noon-1:45 p.m., with the parade beginning at 2 p.m. Prizes will be awarded to the best small dog (25 pounds and smaller), best large dog (over 25 pounds), best group dogs and best in show. To top it off, Hamilton County Dog Licenses will be for sale and microchipping your best friend will cost just $20. Which is a smart idea — after he sees the sweater you picked out, he might try to make a break for it.
