This delicious festival celebrates 35 years of bringing an authentic bit of Greece to the Finneytown area. It’s seriously the one event I look forward to the most every summer and I can’t believe it’s almost here! I’m getting hungry just thinking about it. If you haven’t been, here’s the deal. You pay $2 to get in (you used to be able to donate canned goods to enter, but not anymore) and then you can spend the whole night eating traditionally prepared appetizers, full-course dinners and desserts all made by women in the church kitchen. I have two words: Baklava Sundae. Eat one. They are disgustingly good. Other than food, there’s also plenty of Greek wine and beer so you can get drunk and ride rides or watch Greek dancers in full-on traditional dress. There are also cultural exhibits, raffles and cooking demonstrations. I just sit in the food tent and gorge myself. 5-11 p.m. Friday; 3-11 p.m. Saturday; 1-8 p.m. Sunday. Saint Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church. Get venue details here
