A good deal less scary than their annual haunted house, the St. Rita Festival, which has been going on since 1916, focuses on family, fun, rides, Texas Hold’em and turtle soup — the famous secret family recipe always sells out before the festival closes on Sunday. Located on school grounds, the St. Rita Fest serves as a major fundrasier to help educate students. This year’s live entertainment includes The Remains on Friday night, The Rusty Griswolds on Saturday and After Midnight on Sunday. For those of you feeling lucky, stop by the $31,500 Texas Hold’em Tournament and/or enter the raffle to win $24,000. If you’ve got money to waste on gambling, do it. We won’t judge you. And for $12 on Sunday, kids can ride all they want at Kiddie Land. Other than that, there will be typical festival things like snacks and rides and games. 7 p.m.-midnight Friday; 4 p.m.-midnight Saturday; 1-10 p.m. Sunday. Get venue details here.
