Bargain hunters unite this week to partake in every penny pincher’s fantasy — a yard sale stretching from the foothills of the Appalachians to the interior of the Great Lakes region. Covington’s MainStrasse Village, located nearly dead center along the 600-mile expanse of the sale, will be setting up its own tables to lure local flea market fanatics to the popular annual event. Nearly 100 vendors are expected to line Sixth Street this week with discount wares ranging from cast-iron kettles and collectibles to vintage clothing and antiques.

This year, Northside joins in the fun with its own community-wide yard sale on Saturday. So throw on your most comfortable sandals, bring a pocket full of cash and get geared up to haggle with the best of ’em. There is free parking in the Fifth Street Parking Lot and admission is free. (There’s a $15 daily set-up fee for vendors.) 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Thursday-Sunday. The Northside Neighborhood Yard Sale is Saturday 9 a.m.-2 p.m. at 4163 Hamilton Ave.
