Fair and Off-Balance: Gretchen the Grinch

Dec 8, 2010 at 3:00 pm

Gretchen Carlson continues to make Cincinnati — her one-time home in the 1990s — proud of her accomplishments as Fox News morning host. The former WCPO-TV reporter and anchor (and former Miss America) is the latest national media personality to take the brave stand of supporting the little-known and underappreciated holiday of Christmas.—-

As all Fox News fans know, The Man is trying to destroy the traditions of Christmas in favor of secular humanism and atheism. If not for a few conservative celebrities like Carlson bringing attention to the dire situation, Christmas might already be relegated to the dustbin of history. And then America's small Christian minority would be forced to celebrate Kwazaa or Solstice instead.

Jon Stewart attacked Carlson on The Daily Show Monday night in a segment he dubbed "The Gretch Who Saved the War on Christmas." He mocked Carlson's outrage that a parade in Tulsa, Okla., took the word "Christmas" out of its name.

"The seasonal parade in America's 47th largest city changed its name last year," Stewart said. "And Gretchen apparently just found out about it and is about to open up a can of freedom-ass."

You go, girl!
