Sponsored by Cincinnati World Cinema, the Lunafest Short Film Festival screens original, informative and entertaining short films from Australia, Greece, the Netherlands, Norway and America — all created by female filmmakers.

The films address the universal issues that impact women, their families, relationships and careers. Selected from more than 800 entries, the winners of this film festival portray real-life characters of varied nationalities and ethnicities. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Lunafest’s national philanthropic partner, the Breast Cancer Fund, and the local Eva G. Farris Education Center in Covington, Ky.

Films include Granny’s Got Game, about a basketball team of 70-year-old women; Flying Anne, a film about a young girl with Tourette’s from the Netherlands; Running Dry, a film about economic hardship in Greece; and more.

7 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday. $10 in advance; $12 at the door. The Carnegie, 1028 Scott Blvd., Covington, Ky., cincyworldcinema.org.
