If your yard could use a little more greenery or you're interested in helping people in the urban core breath a little easier, the Cincinnati Park Board has a deal for you.—-
As part of the Park Board's “Fall ReLeaf” urban forestry program, applications are being accepted from property owners who would like to get a free tree. To be eligible, the planting location must be private property within Cincinnati city limits, must be visible from the street and must not pose a conflict with utility lines.
Purchased using grants from Duke Energy and the Cincinnati Parks Foundation, 550 trees will be distributed free of charge to residents and property owners.
To apply for a free tree, property owners must submit a tree request form by Sept. 24, and requests will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis.

Urban forestry staff will review all applications and inspect proposed planting sites to determine if requests meet program guidelines. Approved applicants will receive a confirmation notice and instructions about where they can pick up their free tree in mid-October.
