Have you been searching for a gratifying title beyond the one you hold at your desk job? Look no further because BockFest is now hunting for one talented individual to be crowned the 2009 Sausage Queen. Every year, the BockFest Parade is led by a goat-pulled wagon carrying the ceremonial first keg of beer, accompanied by the glorious Sausage Queen, who carries a symbolic tray of bratwurst sausages. A panel of “expert” judges (i.e. easily bribed) will be looking for one guy or girl with a love of bock beer, a good sense of humor and a refined taste for meat. The contestants must look good carrying a tray of sausages, so diva-esque qualities are a plus. Preliminary rounds for the Sausage Queen competition will be held 9 p.m. Thursday at The Comet; 9 p.m. Saturday at The Blue Bar; 8 p.m. Feb. 25 at Arnold’s Bar and Grill; and 9 p.m. Feb. 28 at Milton’s Prospect Hill Tavern. The Sausage Queen finals will be held at BockFest Hall at 7 p.m. March 7. No entry fee required.
