Ever been lost about what to do with those pumpkins left lying around after Halloween? Well, with Stanbery Park’s third annual “Pumpkin Chuck” event, you can make sure that your leftover gourds go out with a bang, not a whimper. How? Via trebuchet, of course.

For just $2 (and a relatively short wait in line) your pumpkin can be launched out of a trebuchet and splattered all over the ground. Not enough? Still some portion of your bloodlust that remains unsatisfied? If so, this year introduces the theme “When Pumpkins Collide.” A second trebuchet opens the possibility of heart-racing, mid-air pumpkin collision!

For the more laid-back, there will be tethered hot-air balloon rides, weather permitting (no pumpkins allowed to ride). There will also be food, drink, arts and crafts, a pumpkin queen ceremony and a sidewalk chalk art competition. 1-6 p.m. Saturday at Stanbery Park on Oxford Street in Mount Washington.
