While we often think of the holidays as a time to come together with loved ones who share the same religious or cultural traditions as we do, perhaps an underappreciated way of celebrating the “reason for the season” might be to find ways we can connect with the larger world around us. The Cincinnati Museum Center gives visitors an opportunity to learn more about holidays from around the world with hands-on activities that expose children and adults alike to global holiday traditions such as Chinese New Year, Diwali and Kwanzaa.

Noon-3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 20 and Sunday, Dec. 21. Free events take place in the rotunda. 1301 Western Ave., Queensgate, cincymuseum.org.
