Across the nation, commemorations of Gay Pride Month have just wrapped up. In Cincinnati, where things often seem a little behind the times, they haven't even begun yet.
Cincinnati Pride Equinox 2011 is scheduled for July 7-10 in the Queen City. To kick off the festivities, a multi-faith worship service will be held at St. John's Unitarian Universalist Church at 7 p.m. July 7.—-
The service, whose theme is “Together in a Spirit of Love,” will feature clergy and lay leaders from various spiritual and religious perspectives. It is designed to celebrate how their diverse faiths respect and embrace people of all sexual orientations and gender identities.
Organized by Bruce Beisner of St. John's, the service will include music, inspirational readings, prayers and rituals from Christian, Jewish, Buddhist, Native American, Pagan and other religious traditions.
St. John's Church is located at 320 Resor Ave., off of Clifton Avenue in the Clifton Gaslight District. More information is available here or here.
