It Was a Good Day

Yes, it was (and is) a good day. What song (if any) did you listen to when President Elect Obama's victory was announced last night? McCainites and Obamaheads, alike. —- I fell asleep at midnight, but, thanks to some suggestions on the Facebook page of my pal, former Cincy musician Dave Purcell (Pike 27), I blared Husker Du's ">"New Day Rising,""Redemption Song" (Joe Strummer's version), The National's "Mr. November" and Public Enemy's "By the Time I Get To Arizona" (remember when Mr. McCain voted against making Martin Luther King Day a national holiday?). I also threw in Elliott Smith's version of The Beatles' "Because." Just because. I didn't cue it up, but "Landslide" by Fleetwood Mac apparently is appropriate (at least its title is).

So what's your victory song? Or, in the case of our Republican friends, your defeat song? Here's what was going through my head today:
