During an appearance on ESPN2's Manningcast on Dec. 12, Burrow laughed about the viral video of NKU student Haven Wolfe, 21, spilling her guts (and tears) about Burrow post-wisdom teeth removal.
In Wolfe's post-oral surgery video posted on Nov. 27, Wolfe sobbed to her mom from the passenger seat, loopy on the good stuff and gutted by Burrow’s beauty and talent.
“I know he’s got a girlfriend, and I’m happy for him, but I’m not happy for me,” Wolfe says through tears.
Inaudible is the only way to describe what comes out of Wolfe’s mouth next, but then she breaks through the tears to put her love for Burrow plainly.
“He’s pretty but dang it he’s talented,” Wolfe tells her mom, tears flowing. “And let’s be honest, I go for ambition, not looks.”
It was this line that seemed to puzzle and amuse Burrow.
"It sounds like I'm being called ugly there if you ask me. I could be wrong, but..." Burrow joked while talking to Peyton and Eli Manning.
"But you're ambitious," Eli responded. "She's complimenting your ambition, I think."
"Yes, I am ambitious," Burrow replied.
CityBeat caught up with Wolfe after the video racked up thousands of views on Facebook and Instagram. She said she’s a little embarrassed by the video, but that she was telling the truth.
“It’s a little embarrassing, but let’s be honest, most girls who love the Bengals and Joe have thought the same thing,” Wolfe said.
Burrow’s ambition came through in the games following Wolfe's viral video, including beating the Browns for the first time on Dec. 11.
Wolfe could not be reached for comment on Burrow's response by press time, but she previously made her thoughts on Burrow's looks clear to CityBeat.
