The Kingsmen, another top secret spy organization in Britain (more so than even MI6), aligns itself with the ideals of King Arthur’s Round Table to such an extent members take on the names of the knights of the realm. In the modern world, these knights soldier on in suits with all sorts of special gadgetry, but it takes a unique person to claim such an honor and head off into battle against a new-age foe like billionaire telecomm tycoon Valentine (Samuel L. Jackson). Gary “Eggsy” Unwin (Taron Egerton), the son of a Kingsman killed in the field, becomes the top recruit of Harry Hart (Colin Firth), the man who trained his father, despite the fact that, on paper, Eggsy looks like a common street hood. It takes more than class to make the man though. Matthew Vaughn (X-Men: First Class) translates this graphic novel’s world to the big screen with cheeky flair and aplomb.
