“At the Top in Cincinnati: National Leadership in Sustainability,” an illustrated public program at the Mercantile Library at 6 p.m. Thursday, showcases three of Cincinnati's greenest new projects — environmental design initiatives seeking to be in the forefront of the greening of America. Sponsored by Architectural Foundation of Cincinnati, the program focuses on Fernald Nature Preserve, Cincinnati Public Schools' AMIS campus and the new Red Cross Building. Adam Luginbill of glaserworks: Architecture and Urban Design will present information about Fernald, the first LEED Platinum building in Ohio. Robert Knight of GBBN Architects will discuss Cincinnati schools’ new Academy of Multilingual Immersion Studies, as well as the district's commitment to building green schools from now on. And Jim Cheng of Emersion Design will show how the planned Red Cross Building will be a national EPA model for stormwater management. $8 for Mercantile members and $10 for non-members.
