Learn about “Over-the-Rhine Tenements: Historic Foundations for a Greener Future” from Mike Morgan of the OTR Foundation at the Mercantile Library at 6 p.m. Thursday in a lecture expanding on the Betts House’s exhibition From Tenements to Townhouses: Multi-Family Housing in Cincinnati. Some of the grand old apartment buildings that inspire the Betts House show are still in place — maybe you live in one? To find out, see the exhibition at Ohio’s oldest brick house through Sept. 30. The idea of apartment dwelling once had suspect overtones; the show demonstrates how that changed.

Other programming includes a lecture at the Mercantile at 6 p.m. June 3 by Margo Warminski, Cincinnati Preservation Association Director and curator of the exhibition, Row Houses in Cincinnati; and two OTR walking tours (10 a.m., 1 p.m.) led by Morgan on Saturday plus a 10 a.m. Walnut Hills walking tour led by Warminski on May 22. Reservations and small fees required.

Betts House hours are 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Tuesday-Thursday, some Saturdays, with a $2 admission fee. Get details about the lecture and venue here.
