They say print is dead. But who are “they” to say such a thing? The editors of Milk Money Magazine think otherwise, and they can back it up with the very real existence of their mechanical duplicator. It’s not alive – it’s a machine – but the quarterly literary magazines it mass-produces are evidence of a very alive scene for the printed works of fiction, prose, and poetry in Cincinnati. Milk Money will release its latest edition, Volume Six: Luddites Anonymous, during a release party at the headquarters of InkTank, a nonprofit writing advocacy organization in Over-the-Rhine. Readings by local authors and University of Cincinnati creative writing graduate students will begin at 7:30 p.m., followed by live performances by Indie/Experimental Rock band mallory and a recent nominee for Best New Artist at the Cincinnati Entertainment Awards, State Song. Stuart MacKenzie of The Lions Rampant will DJ into the night. The event is free, but donations are accepted and appreciated.
