Blue that you missed last year’s Lite Brite Film Test, which typically took over the Southgate House for a weekend five years running? Who can forget John Waters' one-man show at last year's Lite Brite?
Well, never fear: The always-crafty visual extravaganza is back, this time in conjunction with the three-day MidPoint Music Festival. This year the Test moves to the Contemporary Arts Center (CAC), where programming will take place both in the upstairs lobby and in the black box space downstairs 8 p.m.-midnight Sept. 24-26.
Among the highlights will be the regional debut of Hitoshi Matsumoto’s full-length feature, Big Man Japan, a surreal mockumentary in which a slacker dude gets shocked by bolts of electricity that transform him into a giant who must fend of off all monsters from invading Japan. Shorts from the Best of the 2009 International Film Festival Rotterdam and the Best of the 2008 Ottawa International Animation Festival will also be screened.
