Radio DJ and TV host Eddie Trunk is an unabashedly enthusiastic lover of Heavy Metal. The New Jersey native has made it his mission to champion his musical genre of choice, and he’s been doing it in one way or another for more than three decades.
Trunk’s latest endeavor arrives in the form of Eddie Trunk’s Essential Hard Rock and Heavy Metal Volume II. Sure enough, the new book picks up where his first volume left off, delivering accessible, info-laden profiles of 35 bands — from well-known acts like Alice in Chains, Ace Frehley and Whitesnake to more esoteric outfits like Angel, Glenn Hughes and Riot — that often include the author’s own personal experiences and interactions with the artists in question.
