Local Musician Killed in Crash

Sad news from Arizona: Covington-based "freelance bass player" Cary Jaquish was killed in a one-vehicle motorcycle accident on I-10 in Buckeye while en route to Fresno, Calif. from Phoenix on Sunday. He had landed a gig with a band and was traveling with the Ringling Bros. Barnum & Bailey circus troupe. —-

According to Jaquish's MySpace page, he had wide-ranging musical tastes and considered himself Cincinnati-based. Truly a bass-playing jack of all trades, he had done time with past local groups such as Stoll Vaughn, Chrome, O-6, The Northside Jazz Ensemble and Shilo.

Jaquish was only 32. He will be missed. Perhaps the only silver lining is that he died doing what he loved: touring the country and playing music.
