Just when you think there’s nothing more adorable than a plethora of pooches playing in the park, the MainStrasse Paw-rade gathers a cornucopia of canines … in costumes. This year’s costume theme is famous artists and works of art, so feel free to tap your inner da Vinci for your pup’s ensemble. The dogs will be showing off their artsy swag in a parade from Goebel Park to the Sixth Street Promenade, led by the Mayor of Rabbit Hash herself, Lucy (yes, she barks too). Three top prizes will be awarded: Best Original Costumes, Best Store Bought Costume and Best Theme Costume. In addition to the procession of puppies, there will be a variety of booths, pet portraits by Rescue Angels, Inc. and several doggie-friendly games. The Paw-rade runs from noon-5 p.m. Saturday, with the actual parade beginning at 2:30 p.m. Registration for your K-9 is $5, with the proceeds benefiting U-Can and Rescue Angels, Inc.
