This evening is the kick-off of the free MidPoint Indie Summer series on Fountain Square — starting at 7 p.m. with The Trouble with Boys and also featuring Paper Airplane, The Love Language and Camera Obscura — and it’s also the first time you can buy tickets for this September’s MidPoint Music Festival … at a greatly discounted rate.—-

While they last, MidPoint full-access passes will be available at all MidPoint Indie Summer shows (every Friday) throughout the summer for $29. The passes include access to all of the MPMF showcases, as well as entry to the top-secret show (which only three-day pass holders can attend). Starting July 1, early-bird MPMF passes will be available at the MidPoint Web site for $39.

If you need some incentive, check out the already-stellar lineup of confirmed acts so far (many more will be announced over the next several weeks): A Place to Bury Strangers (Brooklyn); Best Coast (Los Angeles); Caravan of Thieves (Bridgeport); Caribou (Dundas, ON); Clare and the Reasons (Brooklyn); Colour Revolt (Mississippi); Cults (New York); Drink Up Buttercup (Philadelphia); Fang Island (Brooklyn); Gaby Moreno (Los Angeles); Gringo Star (Atlanta); Ha Ha Tonka (Missouri); High Heels (Berlin, Germany); Holy Fuck (Toronto, ON); Justin Townes Earl (Nashville); Light Pollution (Chicago); Milktooth (Nashville); Phantogram (Saratoga Springs); plus/minus (Brooklyn); Pomegranates (Cincinnati); Richard Buckner (Brooklyn); Seabird (Cincinnati); Shiny and the Spoon (Cincinnati); Surfer Blood (West Palm Beach); Ted Leo and the Pharmacists (Washington); The Right Now (Chicago); The Strange Boys (Austin): The Sundresses (Cincinnati); The Tillers (Cincinnati); The Tony Castles (Brooklyn); Tom Tom Club (Aurora); Van Dyke Parks (Pasadena); Via Tania (Chicago); Wussy (Cincinnati).

If you attend any of the Indie Summer shows, you’ll notice the return of a popular MPMF feature. Cincinnati Bell and Topic Design are returning the popular Twitter/Text Visualizer program, which will be broadcast live on the Fountain Square video board. Share your thoughts about any and all things MidPoint by tweeting with the topic hash #mpmf. Cincinnati Bell customers can text 4632.
