A man named Cornell Hood II was sentenced to life in prison by a Louisiana judge last Thursday despite never having been convicted of a violent crime. After already being convicted of marijuana possession three times, Hood was found guilty of having two pounds of pot in his house during a 2010 police search. Under Louisiana’s repeat-offender law, nonviolent drug offenders are subject to life imprisonment if convicted three or more times. If Hood lives to be 76, the average life expectancy for American males, he’ll cost the state $576,153. Snoop Dogg has been arrested seven times.—-

Barack Obama’s lawyers will go to court today to argue that the requirement for Americans to buy insurance is constitutional, a foundation for the president’s healthcare overhaul. The healthcare law that requires Americans to become socialists buy insurance by 2014 or turn in to a pumpkin pay a penalty was a huge win for Obama, but Republicans are looking to undo all that black magic in the courts. Obama’s lawyers will entertain a panel of three judges of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit but the case is expected to reach the Supreme Court. The panel of judges, which was selected randomly by a computer, turned out to have all been appointed by Democratic presidents.

This is a place where blacks and women and hispanics can go to recreate this country in its original Constitutional vision.” Tea Partiers aren’t racist. They just don’t accept minorities.

Fox News’s Eric Bolling agreed with a poster on Facebook last week that the President of the United State of America should be waterboarded. CityBeat’s Eli Samuel Johnson today said that Eric Bolling should receive electroshock therapy.

More than 100 Michigan law students on Saturday walked out of their graduation to protest anti-gay guest speaker, Sen. Rob Portman (R-Oh.).

A Tea Party leader told reporters yesterday that he’d be willing to accept a bump in the debt ceiling if Republicans promise to put an end to “military effeminization.” Grown men dressed as George Washington said in an open letter to Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) and House Speaker John Boehner that “complete defunding of Obamacare,” reinstatement of Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell and keeping women out of combat roles in the military would be deemed acceptable.
