The members of trio Beach Day formed their shimmying Indie Pop band over a mutual love for the classic “Girl Group” music of the ’60s in Hollywood, Fla., an actual beach town (so no detached irony here … well, at least not too much). The group’s sound is full of classic beats, chord changes, melodies and harmonies (and overall vibe) that clearly show Beach Day’s avowed fondness for beach-friendly vintage Pop, from The Ronettes and Shangri-Las to The Beach Boys and The Ventures. The threesome is touring in support of its latest release, last year’s Trip Trap Attack, Beach Day’s debut full-length released through Brooklyn’s Kanine Records, which has put out music by Indie favorites like Surfer Blood, Grizzly Bear, Chairlift, Bleeding Rainbow and many others. With guests Day Camp.
