I’ll be honest — when I saw that ’60s British Folk Pop duo Chad & Jeremy were playing the 20th Century Theatre this Sunday, my first thought was, “What, the ‘Oldies Revue’ package tour takes the winter off?” But the duo of Chad Stuart and Jeremy Clyde — who were mega-superstars in their heyday — have proven they still have the charming, lilting and remarkably catchy touch with the release of Ark-eology, a re-recording of their albums The Ark and Of Cabbages and Kings. If you dig around YouTube, you can find some recent clips of the twosome in concert and it looks like a real hoot (the duo has that wickedly sharp sense of humor The Beatles were renowned for). Besides playing their classics in concert (“Yesterday’s Gone,” “A Summer Song,” “Willow Weep For Me,” to name a few), the duo also has a conversation with the audience about their past, including (if you’re lucky) a humorous recollection about their appearance on the original Batman TV series, where their voices were stolen and held for ransom by Catwoman. The band’s comeback is timely — with light, melodic Folk Pop coming back into vogue in the Indie Rock world, C&J should be embraced by a whole new generation (Belle & Sebastian are big fans). Terry Sylvester, who replaced Graham Nash in The Hollies, and New Jersey’s The Cryers open the 8 p.m. show. $25.
