Eilen Jewell has become an international favorite in just a few short years thanks to her deft ability to combine vintage influences ranging from Blues and Jazz to Folk, Country, Rockabilly and even Surf music.

Her unique style of Americana (matched with a mesmerizing vocal approach that has drawn comparisons to Billie Holiday and Bessie Smith) has led to high-profile touring and airplay across the globe, including commercial and TV show song placements plus fervent fans like Tom Hanks and British Prime Minister David Cameron.

Jewell spent January in the studio with her ace touring band working on her forthcoming fifth solo album, so they should be especially tight for their local appearance (and you’ll likely hear a new song or two).

8:30 p.m. Saturday. $15 through ticketweb.com; $18 day of show. Southgate House Revival, Sanctuary Room, 111 E. Sixth St., Newport, Ky., 859-431-2201, southgatehouse.com.
