Homo-a-GoGo is an event that deserves your attendance for its name alone ... even if it were a 15-hour-long lecture about the homogenization process in milk. As luck would have it, this Homo-a-GoGo is more than just a great name — it sounds like a blast to boot.

The event began as many great ideas do: as a means to fill a hole (insert tasteful gay joke here). Organizers were hitting Cincinnati’s gay bars one night when they realized the music being played was fairly typical and almost identical across the board.

To quench their thirst for a gay dance party with an edgier Rock & Roll heart (and not have to travel to other cities that already have scenes like that), they concocted Homo-a-GoGo as a free monthly dance night at Northside club Mayday where you (regardless of who you sleep with, by the way) can groove to everything from Funk and old-school Rap to BritPop and old-school Punk.

At the debut Friday, Pat Hennessy from local band The Tigerlilies will handle DJ duties.
