Kinky Friedman has always been a trip. A talented and unusual cat, Friedman is a renaissance man of odd and diverse proportions and categories. In the 1970s, he was an acclaimed albeit twisted Outlaw Country musician who recorded such noteworthy songs as “Get Your Biscuits In The Oven and Your Buns In Bed,” “Ride ’Em Jewboy,” “Homo Erectus,” “Asshole from El Paso,” “Solid American” and “They Ain’t Makin’ Jews Like Jesus Anymore” (for the record, Kinky is Jewish).
After his music career peaked, Friedman became a best-selling author, writing a series of mystery and detective novels. Read more about Friedman in this week's Sound Advice.
