The roots of the Hip Hop trio of Hodgy Beats, Left Brain and Domo Genesis, better known as MellowHigh, are as complex as the Bible’s begats. The saga began seven years ago in Los Angeles, when Tyler, The Creator assembled a wealth of musical and creative talent under the umbrella of Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All or, more succinctly, Odd Future.
Original Odd Future members Hodgy Beats and Left Brain teamed up in 2008 to create a new entity they dubbed MellowHype, ultimately releasing a trio of studio albums.
As MellowHype, Beats and Brain collaborated frequently with subsequent Odd Future spitter Domo Genesis, which led to the next generation side project, distinguished by a slightly tweaked version of their duo appellation — MellowHigh.
