Hailing from Los Angeles, Milo Greene has taken to calling itself “Cinematic-Pop.” There’s no reason to disagree. The quintet makes music that is indeed “cinematic.” The members intend for their music to possess a softness to it that makes it perfect for soundtracking movies. They’ve intended that sound from the very beginning, which says a lot about the members. The musicians didn’t just accidentally fall into a style or a genre — they knew what they wanted and made it happen. That cinematic touch also gives the music a dreamy feel. They write the kind of music that doesn’t need a music video because each song will automatically create one in your head.

Milo Greene is made up of four guys (Robbie Arnett, Graham Fink, Andrew Heringer and Curtis Marrero) and one lovely lady (Marlana Sheetz).

But don’t get the wrong idea! This isn’t one of those bands that pop the pretty girl upfront while the dudes mutter in the background. Milo Greene opened for Civil Wars a few years ago in Columbus, Ohio, and each member held their own on stage.

Milo Greene performs 8 p.m. Monday, March 18 with the Kopecky Family Band at Southgate House Revival (111 E. Sixth St., Newport). Buy tickets, check out performance times and get venue details here
