Music sales in the U.S. are set to increase over the previous year for the first time since 2004. Sales are up 3.3 percent over the last nine months, rising from 221.1 million to 228.5 million. The ascent is contributed to digital sales which are up 19.7 percent, mostly thanks to Adele’s 21, which sold more than a half a million more than the number one album from 2010.—-

Hollywood says goodbye to two familiar faces today, as Diane Cilento (The Wicker Man) died at the age of 78 early this morning while tough guy Charles Napier (Silence of the Lambs) died yesterday at the age of 75.

A Papa John’s pizza delivery guy in Colorado called the police on a man after smelling marijuana in his home. In response, one of Papa John’s rivals, Denver-based Sexy Pizza, said yesterday that it will give Smith a free pizza every month until Colorado voters propose a 2012 ballot initiative that would legalize marijuana for recreational use. Like pizza eating contests.

Sexy Pizza says it will extend the offer for life if voters pass the initiative.
