Although the amount of money they could generate on a full-scale tour makes it hard to “never say never,” the chances of David Gilmour and Roger Waters touring again as Pink Floyd are about as good as the Bengals’ chances of winning the next Super Bowl. Friday, a new 10-piece local band is making its debut, filling the Floyd void with a tribute show that includes Floydian visuals (light show and video backdrop) and carefully reconstructed Floyd classics. Signs of Life features several accomplished, veteran local musicians who have teamed together to create a Floyd tribute true to the intricacies of the band’s progressive sound and stimulating stage show. The group’s debut show takes place at the 20th Century Theatre in Oakley. The performance is being recorded for the City Nights cable access TV show; the airdate is still to be determined (check citynightstv.com for the program schedule). 8 p.m. $14 in advance/$15 at the door.
