Like the trains at Duke Energy’s HQ (they think we won’t still hate them if they throw a little holiday razzle-dazzle our way?) and sensationalistic stories from the local media about how you’ll die if you go downtown to shop, the holiday season in Cincinnati wouldn’t be the same without Jazz musician Steve Schmidt and his annual “Christmas Spectacular” at The Comet. This year, the shows take place Monday and Tuesday and, like every year, they won’t cost you a penny (unless you’re drinking … and you should be). This year marks the event’s tenth anniversary (traditional gift: tin) and features some stunning local Jazz talent — Eugene Goss on vocals; Dan Faehnle on guitar; Marc Wolfle on drums; and Schmidt on Hammond Organ. Showtime is 8:30 p.m. both nights.
