It’s been a wild ride for the Christian Metalcore maniacs of The Devil Wears Prada since forming in Dayton six years ago. The sextet’s 2006 debut, Dear Love: A Beautiful Discord, brought them to the attention of the Christian Metal audience and earned the band invitations to Christian festivals like Cornerstone. But the band’s sophomore album, 2007’s Plagues, raised its profile within the secular Metal community and just narrowly missed Billboard’s Top 50. The success of Plagues resulted in TDWP’s appearances on the Warped Tour three out of the last four years and teed up the 2009 release of With Roots Above and Branches Below, which almost cracked Billboard’s Top 10 and ultimately led to TDWP being named as 2009’s Band of the Year by Alternative Press.

The past two years have probably been the craziest for TDWP, with last year’s much anticipated “Back to the Roots Tour” (where the band played selections from Dear Love with the intention of retiring them from their set), the group’s signing to Ferret Music (part of the Warners/Roadrunner/ILG distribution chain) and the release of the false-idol themed Zombie EP.

The Devil Wears Prada plays Bogart's Sunday with Whitechapel, Enter Shikari and For Today. Go here to read Brian Baker's full Sound Advice.
