Last weekend, Cincinnati helped local heroes Over the Rhine celebrate its 20th anniversary at the Taft Theatre. This coming Tuesday at The Southgate House, another local band hitting a milestone throws an anniversary shindig/concert. Thistle will celebrate its 15th birthday that night, an impressive run, especially given the fact that they have had nary a lineup change. In their lifespan so far, the powerhouse Indie Rock trio has released seven albums on one label (their very own, Tiberius Records, which has also put out some fantastic albums by other area acts) and has toured the U.S. and Canada too many times to count. Some of the band’s talented friends will open the show: Cari Clara, Alone at 3am, Knife the Symphony, The Turnbull AC’s (newest members of the Tiberius team), The Strongest Proof, Banderas and Hekura. The show kicks off at 9 p.m. Cover is $7 for those 21 and up; $10 if you’re between 18 and 20.
