Since the very beginning, almost a decade ago, Cincinnati has been something of a “home away from home” for adrenalized, rootsy Cleveland rockers the Whiskey Daredevils. Thanks to regular visits for shows, the band’s raucous, thoroughly entertaining live presentation has wowed enough locals to make the Daredevils a solid area club draw. And the band has history with Cincinnati’s Shake It Records label, which put out releases from pre-Daredevils crew The Cowslingers, as well as from the Daredevils.

A perfectly blended cocktail of Punk, Country, Rockabilly and blazing Rock & Roll, the Daredevils released their eighth album, Whiskey Daredevils III, in March. They return to the Northside Tavern Friday for their first local show since the release. Opening the night is The Grotesque Brooms, led by singer/songwriter Eric Stein, known for his work with The Greenhornes, Holly Golightly and The Griefs, and also featuring top-notch local players Mark Dunbar (guitar) and Andy Jody (drums).
