Music: WKNU Turns 25

The station's official birthday was Thursday, but WNKU is celebrating the occasion with a month of concerts. On Friday their neighbor Daniel Martin Moore and his recording/ touring partner Ben Sollee perform at Highlands High School's new Performing Arts

Northern Kentucky’s all-music public radio station WNKU (89.7 FM) is celebrating its 25th anniversary in style with a series of concerts throughout the spring and summer. The station’s official birthday is Thursday, and the crew will all be on hand at the Cincinnati Zoo’s “Tunes & Blooms” show featuring Jake Speed & The Freddies and The Turkeys to get their party on.

The next night, WNKU presents a concert featuring their neighbor Daniel Martin Moore and his recording/ touring partner Ben Sollee (pictured) at Highlands High School’s new Performing Arts Center. Tickets and more info on Friday’s 8 p.m. show can be found at wnku.org. The site also has the latest additions to the station’s 25th Anniversary Concert Series, which includes Lucy Kaplansky at The Redmoor May 21, Blitzen Trapper at the Southgate House June 20 and many others.
