Rally for Janitors
Cincinnati's commercial janitors are fighting for a livable wage and affordable health care. The Service Employees International Union kicks off a summer of activities with a National Justice for Janitors Day rally at 4:30 p.m. June 15 on Fountain Square. The Cincinnati AFL-CIO Labor Council has lined up U.S. Sen. Joe Biden (D-Delaware) to speak at this year's COPE (Committee on Political Education) Dinner. Concerned Fathers March
Organizers of the Concerned Father's Day March want to emphasize that fathers love their sons and daughters and that violence must stop now. "We are fed up with all of the shootings and violence that is (sic) hurting every single person in Cincinnati," says Mark E. Bany. The march starts at 3 p.m. Sunday at Swifton Commons, heads south on Reading Road and ends around 6 p.m. at the Showcase Cinemas by the Norwood Lateral. Beer and Politics
Drinking Liberally, an informal, an inclusive Democratic drinking club, meets at 7:30 p.m. Tuesdays. You don't have to be a policy expert and this isn't a book club; just come and learn from peers, trade jokes, vent frustration and hang out in an environment where it's not taboo to talk politics.
